404 Imaging for Plastic Surgery Trauma Referrals – Does It Reduce Unnecessary on the Day Patient Transfers?

Abstract Aim To determine whether requesting images for plastic surgery trauma referrals reduced the number of patients transferred to hospital on day assessment and management. Method Two data collection periods between 31/08/22 - 18/09/22 (round 1) 24/10/22 – 17/11/22 2) were undertaken. For round one call SHOs asked keep track all outside their base which they accepted review. Once patient had been reviewed felt required management or if could have safely triaged be seen following day. During two additionally request from referrer able note this altered confirmed initial plan. Results Round one: 15 review with 80% deemed as requiring whilst 20% did not. two: 13 92% 8% Images sent 9 patients, decision in three cases 6. Conclusions Requesting can reduce unnecessarily day, reducing stress, making better use resources.
